The Content Browser is where you can manage scenes, images, materials, shaders and presets.

Here you can add catalogs and preset libraries, and relocate, delete, copy and rename files. Files and presets can be given annotations that can, in turn, be scanned by the Content Browser’s powerful Search function.

In short, saving and, in particular, locating scenes, bitmaps, materials, presets, script-, audio- and layout files is easier than ever before.
