Springs are elements that exert force that increases in accordance with their distortion. Springs have a given length in their state of rest (a given rotation for a angular springs) in which no force is exerted. As soon as a spring’s length or rotation is altered a force is exerted that attempts to return the spring to its state of rest. A springing motion occurs as a result of the mass inertia of an object linked to the spring that causes the spring to extend or compress beyond its state of rest.
The Spring object offers two types of springs:

Note that Springs exert force on the linked objects but do not hold these in place. Additional Connectors are required for this. In the example above, these would be:
