Alembic Morph Tag
Basic TagAlembic Morph Tag
Tip:
Details about
Alembic can be found in that section.
If you make an Alembic object editable (C key), Alembic objects will be converted to polygon objects, including a new Alembic Morph tag. This tag is comparable with the Pose Morph tag only that the deformation information comes directly from the Alembic file.
Note that an Alembic Morph tag can only be created if it is necessary to do so (inanimate objects won’t be assigned one).
So what is this good for?
- Known workflows can be implemented using polygon objects that are affected by the Alembic Morph tag: e.g., texturing can be controlled more precisely using a Polygon Selection tag.
- This tag has a priority, which can sometimes be important if you experience difficulties with the order of implementation.
Although the Alembic Morph tag can also be created via a command, you still have to know the Buffer Number of the manually created Alembic file to which you want to link.
Note that the other objects (polygon or spline objects) to which the tag is conferred must have the same number of points for the morph to work.
