Point Cache
Basic TagPoint Cache
The Point Cache tag lets all point animations be recorded, regardless of the type of animation or which Deformers or Expressions were used to affect the points. All Deformers and Expressions can subsequently be disabled or removed. Animations can easily be rendered dynamically over a network or with Scene Motion Blur.
A special feature is how the Point Cache tag can be used in conjunction with the Point Cache Deformer. Instead of transferring the points’ animations directly from the Point Cache tag to the object, you can use the Point Cache Deformer. The object can then be assigned additional Expressions (something like a second animation layer). This would not work if the animations were transferred directly to an object since any added Deformers would not be able to access the object’s unaltered points.
In addition, you can use the Deformer’s falloff function or CINEMA’s Restriction tag to transfer the animation to specific parts of a given object.
