Create

A collection of features to generate a new texture map from different targets relative to the model.

All Texture Map > Create options require UV coordinates and a texture map assigned in the Texture Map menu.

New From Polypaint

Creates a texture map from the model's polypaint.

New From Masking

Creates a black and white texture map from a mask applied to the model.

Quick Steps:

1. Go to Texture Map > Polypaint From Texture to convert the texture back to polypaint on the model.

2. Use Masking > Mask By Intensity or Mask By Color to recapture the mask from the polypaint.

To reuse a custom mask created with New From Masking, ensure the model retains the same UV coordinates. Later, you can reapply the saved texture map as a mask by following these steps:

This method saves time by avoiding the need to recreate the same mask manually.

New From UV Map

Creates a colorized gradient texture map to view UV shell seams on the model's surface.

If PolyFrame > Line is active, New From UV Map adds the model's topology frame to the new texture map.

New From UV Check

Creates and assigns a new texture map to the model, displaying overlapping UV areas highlighted in red.

New From Vertex Order

Creates and assigns a colorized texture map to the model based on the vertex order.

Red, green, blue, and purple colors represent the relative order of vertices on the model, with the gradient serving as a visual tool to check for consistency and correctness in the vertex order.

Red represents vertices with a lower index (closer to the start of the vertex list). Green and Blue represent vertices further along in the vertex order (further from the start of the vertex list).

Purple represents vertices mid-way in the index order or those influenced equally by two coordinate axes (red and blue).

New From Polygon Order

Creates and assigns a new colorized texture map to identify the model's polygon order in its current state. Use this map to check if the polygon order has changed after being in another application.

Black, green, blue, yellow, and purple are indices for ranges or groups of polygons within the model's overall polygon order.

Black: the first polygon in the order.

Green: early polygons in the order.

Blue: middle polygons in the order.

Yellow: later polygons in the order.

Purple: end of a group of polygons.
