Initialize Primitives

A collection of primitive initializers and sliders to customize edge loop resolution of the generated mesh.

Tap an primitive's button to Initialize its shape as a new subtool with applied x/y/z resolution settings.

Palettes > Tool > Initialize

Clicking any of these primitive Initialize generators replaces the selected subtool. Undo action is supported to restore the previous model.

To avoid replacing a subtool, add a temporary mesh with Insert > Append to be replaced by the chosen primitive. Also, Duplicate an existing subtool to be replaced by the generated primitive.

ZBrush for iPad's Initialize options work just the same as in ZBrush desktop. Learn more in our external ZBrush Initialize documentation.

Initialize Primitive vs Primitive3D

Initializing primitives (1) is different than Primitive3D (2) objects offered in the Tool palette.

The Initialize menu for primitives is accessible in the Tool palette only when a PolyMesh3D object is selected.
