SculptrisPro is a real-time decimation system for modulating surface resolution with sculpting brushes.
SculptrisPro generates triangles at varying densities controlled by your brush Draw Size.
Bottom Toolbar > SculptrisPro menu
This example uses the DynaMeshSphere128 ZProject found at Home Screen > New Sculpts > 3D Meshes.
1. Tap the SculptrisPro icon in the bottom toolbar to activate.
Additionally, long press the SculptrisPro icon in the bottom toolbar to open settings and activate with the toggle at the top.
2. Select the Standard brush and assign/select the DragRect stroke.
3. Tap Alphas and select Alpha 022.
4. Increase ZAdd/ZSub intensity.
This step demonstrates selecting ZAdd and increasing intensity to create a more pronounced brush stroke that grows outward from the surface.
5. Drag on the surface to apply the alpha shape.
6. Tap the Polyframe option in the right canvas toolbar to view the SculptrisPro topology.
This example demonstrates steps 1 through 6 described above.
The resulting surface shows a decreased resolution to the brush stroke, which fails to capture essential brush details. Surface triangle resolution is controlled by the SubDivide Size setting.
SubDivide Size controls the degree of tesselation added to the mesh when applying a brush stroke. A lower setting generates a higher volume of small triangles; a higher setting generates fewer and larger triangles.
7. Tap Undo in the left canvas toolbar and apply the following actions:
Decrease Draw Size to a value less than 1, then drag on the model to apply a brush stroke.
Increase Draw Size to a value higher than 1, then drag on the model to apply a brush stroke.
You'll see that a smaller Draw Size increases the density of triangles generated from brush strokes, while a larger Draw Size decreases that triangle density.
8. Hold Shift to activate the Smooth brush and draw on the sculpted surfaces to smooth. Adjust the Draw Size larger to repeat the smoothing action.
When you activate SculptrisPro, the smooth brush creates new triangles at a designated size controlled by the UnDivide Ratio.
Disable ZAdd for the smooth brush to block the brush from smoothing surface details, then use the smooth brush to populate triangles at a defined UnDivide Ratio setting.
9. Adjust the Draw Size slider and SculptrisPro settings to produce a preferred resolution configuration.
Move brushes are not supported with the SculptrisPro remeshing system. Using these brushes has no remeshing effect.
Experiment with different sculptural brushes to learn their effects when sculpting with SculptrisPro. This example shows the SnakeHook brush collection used to create extrusions that grow and remesh in real time.
