Polymesh/Subdmesh Objects

Table Of Contents

Polymesh Objects

The Redshift for Katana includes a delegated plugin to extract the polymesh objects, for example all the geometric information from the alembic files. These objects support the RedshiftObjectSettings node to configure all the Redshift object level features, like the visibility options or the matte feature. Any polymesh object can be also configured as a Redshift tessellated surface, and can support the displacement effects.

Subdmesh Objects. Edges Creasing.

Redshift for Katana also includes a delegated plugin to extract the subdmesh type locations, including specific information like edge creases. These objects also support the RedshiftObjectSettings node to configure all the Redshift object level features, like the visibility options or the matte feature.

The subdivision parameters can configured using the Redshift tessellated surface parameters, and of course the subdmesh objects can support the displacement effects. Both subdivision and displacement are computed at render time.
