The Gear/Settings Menu

As noted earlier, Maxon App serves as your gateway to Maxon program license management. The “gear” icon (in the top-right corner) provides access to that management via the Account Settings link as well as several other features and functions.

Account Settings

Selecting Account Settings from the Maxon App menu will spawn a new browser tab for id.maxon.net, where you will be prompted to log into your Maxon account with your email, Apple, Google, or Facebook credentials. The resulting MyMaxon Account page contains tabs for your profile, address, payment info, licenses, order history, subscriptions, and Maxon’s Teams Program (which offers premium benefits for larger commercial groups). Detailing these pages falls outside this Maxon App user guide’s scope, but you can get a taste for the information offered here from the license page capture shown below.

Create Error Log…

Why do bad things happen to good programs? Often, it’s complicated, and finding answers requires some digging. Error logs give program engineers a snapshot of your system conditions at the time the error occurred. After clicking the hamburger menu’s Create Error Log… link, select Create Log. You will see a progress indicator and finish with a compressed log file on your desktop to send to Maxon support.

Selecting this option will open a new browser tab and load Maxon’s Support Center page, where you’ll find knowledge base-driven answers, support ticket creation and tracking, user guides, training, and much more.

This link actually goes to Maxon's online Knowledge Base, which contains a range of FAQs, but maybe "Open FAQ" was easier to type.

Switch Language

Maxon App supports languages beyond English. To access the list of alternative interface languages, click Switch Language, select your desired language, and click the Confirm button.

Reset Configuration

Every once in a rare while, licensing errors may arise that cannot be remedied through a simple release and assign / acquire process. Think of resetting as a “nuclear” solution for such instances. Note that program installations will be unaffected; only Maxon App’s record of those programs’ installations will change. At the end of the reset, you will need to sign back in to Maxon App, whereupon you can reestablish that installation link by instructing Maxon App to install the program(s) again.

Sign Out

Signing out will halt all Maxon tasks and change your license status to Not Licensed for all products. To continue using Maxon programs, you have to sign back in.
