Remaining Items

Throughout our tour, you may have noticed that a few Maxon App elements didn’t quite fit into our earlier feature group discussions. Here are the last items worth noting.

Sync Account

There may be times when you change your license status. For example, you might have released your Maxon One license in your Account Settings on the Maxon website, and those settings haven’t yet updated with Maxon App. Clicking the Sync Account icon will force an update between Maxon App and your account at Maxon, ensuring that all your program access is current.

Learn More & Release License

We touched on the program ellipsis icon earlier when covering how to uninstall a program. This pop-up menu offers one additional function: Discover More.

Discover More opens a new browser tab and take you to that program’s product page. It’s a handy shortcut if you’re interested in expanding your knowledge of Maxon’s toolset.

Finally, Release License will do exactly that — release the program’s license so that the program can be installed on a different system under the same license. This ability can prove very useful when, for instance, a user might want to transition from working on a workstation PC in the office to a laptop while on the road. By releasing the program on the workstation and then acquiring it on the laptop, the user stays within the license terms and enjoys no Maxon workflow interruption.

Pre-assign upcoming licenses

If you renew your Licenses ahead of time, it is very beneficial to pre-assign those upcoming Licenses to avoid any lapse in license access.
To do this, go to the Teams tab, select the filter tool, and click "Expired licenses" from the pop-up.

Expired and upcoming licenses should show an exclamation mark beside them. You can assign upcoming (and other) licenses by selecting them and using the ASSIGN TO GROUP and ASSIGN TO USER buttons. Creating and managing groups and their users is a snap in within the Groups tab, shown below.

And last but not least, Maxon integrates a mandatory update feature that helps ensure you're running a reasonably current version of Maxon App. This is meant to make sure you keep on having a positive experience with Maxon tools and are able to obtain all the services to which your license provides access. Just click the Update Now button and keep on enjoying Maxon.
