Slider Controls

  • White Balance is covered on this page.
  • Temperature nudges colors into red tones (higher values) or blue tones (lower values).
  • Tint nudges colors into yellow tones (higher values) or red tones (lower values).
  • Exposure stretches or compresses the Red, Green and Blue channels. Exposure is good for setting the overall brightness of the image, especially after adjusting the other correction controls.

      • Up Arrow: Increase Primary Exposure by 0.25
      • Up Arrow + Shift: Increase Primary Exposure by 1.0
      • Down Arrow: Decrease Primary Exposure by –0.25
      • Down Arrow + Shift: Decrease Primary Exposure by –1.0
  • Contrast helps define luminescence detail. The value range -10 to 10. The default value is 0, which is neutral. Positive/higher values add contrast bringing out detail in your image while Negative/lower values remove contrast, flattening your image.
  • Highlight Boost pushes highlights up into HDR, but also helps with standard dynamic range highlight boosting, brightening any highlight values above the ranges they're currently in.
  • Highlight Rolloff softens any color values above clipping, and rolls them back to non-clipping color values. Higher values affects broader areas of clipping, while lower values start with only the minimal clipping values. Setting this too high can potentially flatten the range of values near clipping.
• Hue and Saturation
  • Saturation raises or lowers the colorfulness or intensity of color of the footage. Lower values drain color, making the image closer to grayscale. Higher values add color intensity, and causes the image color to become more bold.
  • Hue shifts all colors along the color wheel. Higher values move the color sample counter-clockwise along the color wheel. Negative/lower move the sample clockwise along the color wheel.

  • Saturation EQ: Adjusts saturation across the various values of luminance (lum) and saturation (sat)
    • Sat by Lum adjusts the saturation by luminance between the darkest (left-most) values, and brightest (right-most) values.
    • Sat by Sat adjusts the saturation levels by the lowest-saturated (left-most) values and most-saturated (right-most) values.
  • Show Skin Overlay toggles a grid over the areas of the skin that are considered to be within broadcast-safe skin tones.
• Structure and Lighting
  • Highlight Regions controls the brightness of the highlights region of the image. Positive values brightens up the highlights of the image without altering the perceptual contrast level of the shot. Negative values removes brightness from the highlights of the image.
  • Shadow Regions controls the brightness of the shadows region of the image. Higher values brightens up the shadows of the image without altering the perceptual contrast level of the shot. Negative values removes brightness from the shadows of the image.
  • Clarity has two functions, which on whether it is set to a positive or negative value: positive values adds local contrast to the image for more visual clarity, providing better visual sharpness for many types of challenging footage, such as outdoor backlit shots. Negative values removes sharpness and creates a softened smoothing effect, which is good for quick and simple complexion smoothing for cosmetic cleanup.
  • Vignette mimics a lens vignette. A lens vignette occurs when the light that enters the lens is partially blocked by the barrel, causing a natural decrease in brightness around the edges of the frame. Positive values add vignetting to the image. Negative values remove vignetting that may already exist in the image.
