Layer Maps Group

Disperse group

The Disperse group uses a layer map to create particle dispersion in the system, similar to how the Turbulence Strength group works.

The amount of dispersion is set in the Disperse & Twist group. If the Disperse & Twist> Disperse control is set to 0, then no dispersion will occur. Once Disperse has a value, you will see the layer map pushing particles around.

At left, a layer with a gradient ramp. In the middle, the particle field. At right, the gradient ramp is applied as the Disperse map, with Disperse set to 50 in the Displace > Disperse and Twist group.
