Modify the Effect
Adjust the
Maximum Blur Size
control to increase the intensity and influence of the Blur from the center point.
Blur Channel(s)
: Select from the Channel(s) drop-down menu which channel in your image you'd like the blur to affect. Your choices are:
RGB
(this will select all the color channels), or isolate the blur by choosing from the
Red, Green, or Blue
options
The
Alpha
option will allow the blur to just affect the alpha channel of your image.
The
HSL
option affects all the Hue, Saturation and Lightness in the image, or isolate just one of these by choosing
Hue, Saturation,
or
Lightness.
The
Mask Controls
control group will help you isolate the Compound blur to a specific area within the layer.
Soften Mask
will add a blur to the edges of the mask.
To utilize just one aspect of that chosen layer, use the
Mask Channel
drop-down to choose from the
Luma, Red, Green, Blue,
or
Alpha
channels of your selected layer.
Check on the
Show Mask
box to see the areas within the layer your mask is affecting.
Invert:
when checked on this will switch the blur to occur outside the selected mask shape instead of inside. The default is off.
The
Mask Scale
will scale your mask up or down in the range from 0-800% across the image.
Mask Position
allows you to move the position of the mask along the X and Y axis using the cross-hair or numerical controls.
The
Quality c
ontrol will spread the gradient of the blur more evenly across the image, blending the edges and colors together the higher it is set.
Turning on the
Apply Linear
check box will convert the gamma from standard video gamma (Rec 709 assumed) to linear gamma (1.0). This results in less smearing of blacks and highlights tend to be preserved.
Chose from the
Blend Mode
drop-down to select the blending mode used to composite the blurred result over the original input image.
The
Opacity Slider
makes the effect more subtle and transparent over the original image.
