Flips through various tiled textures over the output, adding an animated and grungy quality to
your footage.
Getting Started
Drag the effect onto your clip.
Modify the Effect
Source
Noise Source sets whether the energy noise pattern comes from the Image Contours, basic Fractal Noise, a combination of both Noise + Image Contours, or just the Alpha Outline (if any).
Color 1 and 2 set the two tones used throughout the effect.
Distortion adds an additional noise layer used solely for distortion on top of the original noise source.
Distortion Settings
Distortion Scale: Controls the scale of the distortion effect.
Distortion Influence: Adjusts the granularity of the distortion effect based off its noise distortion layer.
Distortion Octaves: Adds additional (higher values) or less (lower values) complexity to the distortion pattern.
Brightness: Controls the overall brightness of the electricity effect.
Evolution Speed: Changes the rate of the electricity effect.
Evolution Offset: Moves the electricity effect away or toward its Noise Source.
Blend Mode: Chose from the drop-down to select the blending mode used to composite the effect over the original image.
Fractal Noise Settings: Controls the Fractal Noise source only when selected from the Noise Source parameter above.
FN Contrast: Adjusts the range of values between the noise's brightest and darker spots. Higher values result in more contrast and less output, lower values result in a cloudier fractal, covering more the image.
FN Scale: Defines the scale of the fractal. A low value creates a smaller scaling, which gives a smoother look. A high value will add greater textual detail.
FN Aspect: Sets the aspect ratio for the distortion.
FN Rotation: Rotates the noise around the center axis.
FN Scroll X and Y: Moves the noise along the X and Y axis, respectively.
Matte Settings
Matte Source: Creates an optional added matte from either Fractal Noise or Image Contours
Matte Evolution Speed: Controls the rate at which the electrify effect moves through the matte source.
Matte Brightness: Adjusts how bright the added matte source is.
Matte Contrast: Contrast the range of values within the matte.
Matte Scale: Defines the size of the matte.
Matte Aspect: Sets the aspect ratio for the matte.
Matte Rotation: Rotates the matte around the center axis.
Matte Scroll X and Y: Moves the matte along the X and Y axis, respectively.
View Matte Source: Toggles showing the matte area.
Mask Settings
Enable Mask: Toggles the option mask on or off over the effect.
Mask Shape: Sets whether the mask is a Rectangle or Ellipse.
Mask Position: Allows you to move the position of the mask along the X and Y axis using the cross-hair or numerical controls.
Mask Width and Height: Scales the mask respectively along the X and Y axis.
Mask Angle: Sets the rotation angle of the mask.
Mask Invert: Switches the blur to occur outside the selected mask shape instead of inside when checked “On” . The default is “Off” for this control.
Mask Feather: Increases the translucency in the edges of the mask along a gradient. The Feather direction will pull the transparent gradient towards the center of the mask if turned down towards -100 or out towards the edges if turned up to 100.
View Mask: Toggles showing the mask area.
Glow Intensity: Brings up the brightness of the glow, reducing its opacity and giving it a more solid, neon like effect.
Glow Radius: Expands or shrinks the glow out from the highlight areas. This will spread out the intensity of the glow, making it more translucent.
Random Seed: Adjusts the randomness formula used throughout the effect. Useful for discerning one similar effect from another, or just seeing other variance options.
Unmult: Detects the black areas of the layer and turn them into a transparent alpha channel.
Matte Source Alpha: Toggles whether the matte is applied to the source alpha channel (if any)
Electrify Opacity: Adjusts the transparency of the electrify effect.
Source Opacity: Adjusts the transparency of the footage the effect is applied onto.
