SPECTRALICIOUS
A 6-color gradient effect with controls blending options, exposure, and saturation. Includes Master Spread settings to quickly feather or sharpen the edges of the spectrum points. Get started quickly with 12 presets that simulate sky color tones and more.
Getting Started
- Drag the effect onto your clip.
Modify the Effect
- The Preset menu will allow you to chose from a set of 12 pre-made spectrums with different colors and design settings to get you started quickly.
- Show Presets To make it easier for you to view all the possible spectrum Presets, we've included a checkbox control "show Presets" that when checked “on” will display a small set of thumbnails of the spectrums found in the Preset drop-down. Turn this checkbox off once you’re ready to work with the tool again.
- The Show Overlays checkbox will place labels in the composition window of each numbered Point from 01-06 to make it easier for you to reposition the points and choose the colors you’d like for the corresponding points. Make sure you turn this checkbox off when you’re ready to render out the the final image or the labels will appear in your exported footage.
- Numbered 01-06, the Point controls are spread out along the composition by default in an even manner. Use the crosshair control or X Y numerical parameters to the reposition of these points to new locations in the composition to create different spectrums with the tool.
- Each Point has corresponding Color and Opacity controls which allows you to change the color and opacity of the point to suit your needs.
- When adjusted down the Master Spread control will shrink the space each individual color takes up in the frame, making their areas more defined. When this control is increased the colors blend spread out and blend together for a softer look.
- The Noise control adds slight noise patterns to your gradient for a more organic look that covers the banding look you may encounter in some gradient instances.
- The Preview Crop checkbox and Crop 01, Crop 02 controls allow you to reposition the Spectrum to a “zoomed in” selection of the spectrum.
- When turned on, the Lighten Blend checkbox blends the spectrum together in a “lighten” mode.
- The Post Saturation control allow you to desaturate the spectrum by turning the control down towards total grey at 0. To add more saturation, turn this control up towards 400.
- The Post Exposure allows you to brighten up the spectrum by adjusting up towards 4.0, or darken the overall look when brought down.
- Chose from the Blend Mode drop down to select the blending mode used to composite the gradient over the background or in image if the generator effect is applied to a layer that contains an image or text.
- The Opacity control allows you to make the spectrum more transparent if needed, exposing the layers beneath it when the Blend Mode is set to None or exposing the layer it is applied to when the Blend Mode is set to Normal.
