This shader node gives you access to that attribute data, facilitating object or point shading variation without requiring different materials. > **Important:** User Data does not work with volume shading. Redshift 2025.4 and newer support color and scalar per-vertex attributes on hair primitives. These attributes are automatically extracted and made available in shaders using the Color User Data node. | | | --- | | ![Image: H_PerVertex_Color_UI.png](https://help.maxon.net/r3d/houdini/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/H_PerVertex_Color_UI.png) | ## Parameters | | | --- | | ![Image: image2017-7-12_18-37-2679ac.png](https://help.maxon.net/r3d/houdini/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/image2017-7-12_18-37-2679ac.png) | ### Attribute Name The name of the user attribute assigned to the object or point cloud. In Houdini the attribute "Cd" is commonly used for point attribute color but in Solaris you will want to use "displayColor" instead for the equivalent color information. ### Default This is the color that will be output by the shader if the attribute is not found on the object or point cloud.
