Grain16 is real 16mm film grain you can easily add to your footage. Place Grain16 onto your clips to add the dynamic texture of authentic film.
Presets
Apply already-optimized Electrify motion patterns and color schemes to your text and images with lightning fast ease. Find these presets via the blue Open Dashboard... button or the Choose a Preset... button below it. Note that these presets correlate to the five Grain Type options mentioned below.
As with all other Universe tools, you can modify or create a Glitch look and then save it under its own name by pressing the Save Preset... button.
Modify the Effect
The
Grain Type
drop-down menu offers five different 16mm film stocks made from digital scans. Grain16 is based on the 16mm grain scans in CrumplePop’s very popular Grain 35 v2.0 package.
Chose from the
Blend Mode
drop-down to select the blending mode used to composite the Grain16 result over your original input image.
Turning the
Grain Opacity slider
down from 75 (the default) will lower the Grain16 effect's overall opacity. Below, compare values of 30 (left) and 190 (right).
Increase
Grain Saturation
values to add fully saturated color of the chosen film stock into the image, or leave it at 0 to keep the original footage color.
Grain Exposure
lightens or darkens the grain overlaid on the scene. A 0.0 value will give a dark, underexposed look while 1.0 gives an overexposed effect that bleaches out shadow details.
