By default, you will find two elements here, which can be nested via Color inputs. In this state, the function reflects that of the Blend Node, only that for the Layer Node no separate option is available for working with Alpha channels. In the Layer Node, Alpha channels will be handled in accordance with the Blend modes for the color portions.

Blend modes can be selected from a drop-down menu and reflect the settings of the BlendNode. The same applies to the Opacity percentage, which is located next to the Blend Mode menu as a slider.

If necessary, additional inputs for layers can be added via the Add button. If you wan to add a new Material Node directly as an additional layer, you can use the arrow button to the right of the Add button to select the desired Node.

Selected layers will be deleted by clicking on the Remove button. The Copy and Paste buttons let you copy and paste layers, including all of their Blend Mode and Opacity settings. Material Nodes connected to the copied element will not be copied.
