# Pencil Controls

The following discusses Apple Pencil navigation and controls within the ZBrush canvas.

# Scene Orbit

Press and drag in the canvas area surrounding the model to orbit the camera.

> **Tip:** The ZBrush default orbit rotation axis is set to **Rot XYZ**. You can customize your experience by changing the rotation orientation axis to prioritize individual axes.

# Long Press

Long press on available canvas UI buttons, subtools, and sub-menus to open additional options.

# Pencil Roll

While hovering over brush parameters in the left toolbar, rolling the pencil between your finger increases or decreases these attributes.

> **Note:** This behavior is linked to the Allow Roll Gesture setting and is disabled by turning off Allow Roll Gesture in the User Settings > Navigation > Multitouch menu.
