Navigation These settings affect how camera rotation functions within the canvas. ![Image: 2024-3-touch-navigation-full-menu.png](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-3-touch-navigation-full-menu.png)\ User Settings > Navigation Menu ## Rotation XYZ Choose a rotation axis to orient the camera when orbiting around the model. ### Rotate X ![Image: 2024-3-touch-navigation-X.png](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-3-touch-navigation-X.png) Orients the camera to prioritize rotation along the x axis when dragging your finger or pencil horizontally across the screen. > **Note:** Dragging vertically across the screen orbits the model naturally in XYZ space until the gesture returns to a horizontal path. ### Rotate Y ![Image: 2024-3-touch-navigation-Y.png](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-3-touch-navigation-Y.png) Orients the camera to prioritize rotation along the y axis when dragging your finger or pencil horizontally across the screen. > **Note:** Dragging vertically across the screen orbits the model naturally in XYZ space until the gesture returns to a horizontal path. ### Rotate Z ![Image: 2024-3-touch-navigation-Z.png](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-3-touch-navigation-Z.png) When dragging horizontally across the screen, camera prioritizes rotation along the z axis in relation to its position with the floor grid. > **Note:** Dragging vertically across the screen orbits the model naturally in XYZ space until the gesture returns to a horizontal path. ### Rotate XYZ Orients the camera to prioritize rotation across all axes. > **Note:** **Rot XYZ** is ZBrush's default setting. ![Image: 2024-3-touch-navigation-XYZ.png](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-3-touch-navigation-XYZ.png) --- # 2. Multi-touch ## Center Navigation on Pinch When active, two-finger pinch to zoom targets the central area between your fingers when first pressed on the screen, working as an anchor to zoom and out. ![Image: 2024-3-touch-multitouch-options.png](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-3-touch-multitouch-options.png) > **Important:** Disabling this option prioritizes the center of the currently selected subtool when using pinch to zoom. --- ## Allow Roll Gesture Controls two-finger gesture ability to "roll" or "rotate" the camera/model. ### Enabled: Use two fingers to pinch zoom, with added ability to roll/rotate the camera simultaneously. ### [Video: 2024-3-touch-navigation-allow-roll-gesture.mp4](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Videos/2024-3-touch-navigation-allow-roll-gesture.mp4) ### Disabled: Using two fingers to roll/rotate is disabled, leaving only pinch-to-zoom navigation. [Video: 2024-3-touch-navigation-roll-gesture-disabled.mp4](https://help.maxon.net/zbp/en-us/Content/Resources/Videos/2024-3-touch-navigation-roll-gesture-disabled.mp4) > **Note:** When the **Touch Navigation** option is enabled and **Allow Roll Gesture** is disabled, Apple Pencil or "one-finger touch" can still be used in the surrounding canvas area to orbit the camera around the model. > **Tip:** Pro Tip: > > Disable **Allow Roll Gesture** if you are working at a specific angle of the camera toward the model. This essentially blocks two-finger pinch from changing angle orientation, leaving only zoom when using a two-finger pinch gesture.
