# Material

### Load

The Load Material button replaces the selected material with a saved one.

### Save

The Save Material button saves the selected material to a disk file.

### Lightbox>Materials

The Lightbox>Materials button will launch Lightbox with the Materials tab showing, so you can select a material from disk. To show in Lightbox, materials should be saved to the ZBrushCore/ZMaterials folder.

### Material selection slider

Use the Material Item Info slider to select any material in this palette by number.

### R – reset

Press the R (Restore Configuration) button when a large number of selected items cause this palette to grow too large. All but a few items will be hidden; they can be retrieved by pressing the large thumbnail and selecting them from the popup palette.

### Current Material thumbnail

The large Material thumbnail displays the current selection. Click the thumbnail to choose from a popup menu of available Materials. In addition, this thumbnail serves as a picker. Click inside this thumbnail and drag to the canvas to pick the material at that point.

### Small Material thumbnails

Click a small Material thumbnail to select that material. Recently used material will be displayed here.
