Partition Modifier

Note:There are also Cineversity videos for these special Node capsules, which demonstrate their practical use. Follow this link to the corresponding overview page.

This function can be used directly under a polygon object in the Object Manager or in the Node Editor as a modeling function for an inserted polygon geometry. The function consists of adding additional, regular or randomly appearing subdivisions to the corresponding geometry, which can also be configured with spacing and animation. This can be used, for example, to create technical-looking details (see also Greeble), generic street or development plans or to display fragmentation.

From version 2025.2, this asset capsule is also available directly as an object via the familiar Deformer menu within the C4D layout, so that it can be used directly in the Object Manager as a child of a polygon geometry.

A simple disk was used as the base on the left and a simple plane on the right. The effect of the Partition Modifier is shown in random or regular new subdivisions on the polygons of these objects, which have been thickened here by an additional Extrude Modifier for clarification.
