Refout
With this element, connections between ports can be changed in their course or even branched. To do this, Shift+Ctrl+click on an existing connection to create a new Rerout point at that location. Rerout points can be moved at any time with the mouse to affect the course of the connection. Any number of Rerout points can be created along a connection. Individual Rerout points can also be deleted at any time. The connection will update itself automatically.
Rerout points can be used to avoid many overlaps between Nodes and other connections and improve the readability of a setup, as the following figure shows.
When you hover over Rerout points with the mouse, side ports will appar that you can use to create new connections. This also lets you split a connection to pass its value to multiple Nodes or ports. The following image illustrates this as an example.
A special case is when - as shown in the figure above - you drag a Rerout point directly from the Asset Browser into the Node Editor and connect its output to a Node input. In such cases, the Rerout point will also offer an Input field in the Attribute Manager in which numerical values can be entered. The Rerout point can be used to replace a Value Node, for example.
