Track Modifier
This tag takes the existing animations and modifies them procedurally. This makes the following possible:
- Very straightforward animations can be made to look more realistic by adding slight or larger deviations.
- Elastic behavior can be added to the animation.
- Animations can be smoothed.
- and much more (see also Mode).
instead of animating these effects manually, this tag helps get that something extra out of an animation.
The respective effects can also be expanded to the object's other tags and/or its hierarchy. It's also possible to exempt individual animation tracks from the tag's effect.
Note: Note that you can call up the Add Track Modifier command in the Attribute Manager under "Animation" for selected, animated tracks, which will restrict the tag to the selected tracks.
Example
In this scene, all cylinders have an exactly identical animation track Position.Y. Track Modifier tags vary the vertical animation in different ways. From left to right:
- Original, unaltered animation.
- Posterization Mode.
- Spring Mode.
- Smooth Mode, negative time factor (faster).
- Smooth Mode, positive time factor (slower).
