Vertex Map Tag
Vertex Maps (also known as "point weighting") store a value between 0 and 1 for each point of an object. It can also be controlled by fields.
Weightings can be painted on with the Paint Tool.
Vertex Maps are almost indispensable for working with deformation objects, for example. This allows you to precisely define the effective range for such an object. For example, a Twist object can only twist the head of a figure and not the rest of the body.
Example
In the following examples, you can see various applications of Vertex Maps. Clockwise starting from top left control Vertex Maps:
- the tear pattern of a simulated Cloth Tag.
- the particle velocity,
- the material covering power.
- the deformer effect.
