Creates a new layer. Alternatively, double-click in an empty space in the Layer Manager.
Each new layer is assigned a random color. You can change the color or name by double-clicking on it.
Creates a new layer and assigns it automatically to the items selected in the Object Manager.
If multiple layers are selected, all items on these layers are reassigned to a new layer. The old layers are deleted.
Adds all objects selected in the Object Manager to the selected layer. This command adds objects only. Other items such as tags and render settings are ignored. If multiple layers are selected, the first layer is used.
The Save As command saves the current layer configuration and status of the switches as a layer set. You can load a layer set using the Open command.
If your scene already contains layers when you open a layer set, the layer set will be added to the existing layers.
Layer sets are especially useful in large production environments where complex layer configurations must be identical throughout.
