If ports with a variable number of inputs are available such as a color gradient’s ports or for layers, the number of ports can be queried using the Variadic Count Node, e.g., for use with the following calculation. In this example, the number of handles of a gradient is ascertained and output in the Console via an Output Node.

Several Nodes offer the possibility of using a variable number of entries. A gradient’s color tab, for example, or the BSDF layers within a material. This Node can be used to ascertain the number of entries.
