Reference Cinema 4D Advanced Features ProRender ProRender NodesContext Nodes
The nodes in this group work, in the broadest sense, with projection of color values onto the UVW texture space as well as with the creation and manipulation of UV coordinates. Since Node Materials are also assigned via a Texture tag, you can also use their Projection settings for adjusting the mapping. If custom adjustments to individual components of the material must be made, these Context nodes will help.
Most nodes therefore have separate inputs for UV coordinates. These can be created by right-clicking on an empty area of the Material Node and selecting Add Input from the menu that appears.
The UV input can be used to modify the UV coordinates sent to a given node. If this input is not occupied, the normal UV coordinates or the texture’s projection will automatically be used.
In either case, the Texture tag will be the deciding factor and can also be used to affect the projection of the material onto a surface via its Offset and Length settings.
Please note that the UV coordinates for Material Nodes start with the coordinates 0, 0 in the bottom left corner. The Texture tag follows an older standard by which the origin of the UV coordinates lie in the top left corner of the texture tile. Correspondingly, the V axis will run inverse to the Material Node.
