Fresnel Dielectric

The Fresnel effect is already part of the BSDF Nodes in order to be able to simulate their reflection behavior for conductive and dielectric materials physically correctly. If you want to make other material properties such as a color change, depending on the angle of view of the surface, you can use the Fresnel Dielectric Node, which outputs a simple grayscale gradient.

When light strikes a dielectric surface, part of the light is refracted into the object. The remaining part is reflected and thus creates a reflection. This surface-dependent behavior can be described for many materials as a numerical value referred to as the Index of Refraction. Unlike the Fresnel Conductor Node, however, there is no coloring here, but only gray values are output, whose brightness expresses the intensity of the reflective properties depending on the viewing angle.
