Car Paint Material

Car paint can look really good when an HDRI is added to the sky.

The Car Paint Material makes a metallic car paint available that is made up of 2 layers internally:

• The bottom layer is a diffuse color layer (Base tab), in which the flakes can be placed per Normal mapping (Flakes tab) to create the metallic effect.
• On top of this layer is a reflective clear coat layer (Gloss tab).

These layers‘ properties can be adjusted separately in the respective tabs.

Car paint needs to be glossy. You therefore have to make sure that your scene contains either bright Area or Polygon lights or has a sky with an HDRI texture that is reflected in the paint.
