Here you can link a structure whose brightness can be evaluated for the displacement effect. You can, for example, use an Image node or a Noise node.
This is the intensity with which the Displacement Map will be evaluated.
This is the degree of deformation. The actual deformation of the surface also depends on the intensity of the Displacement Map, Strength and Type settings.
Here you can define how the brightness for the Displacement Map setting should be interpreted:
The displacement can only work where points exist on the surface. In order to show a high number of details in the displacement on objects with less subdivision, the object can be further subdivided for rendering using the Displacement node. The effect comparable with the sub-polygon displacement of a default material or the effect of a Subdivision Surface object. Subdivisions that are added will also be used to smooth the object. This should be applied carefully so you don’t produce an uncontrolled number of additional surfaces for rendering.
