tyFlow
Overview
Requires Redshift 2027 or later
Requires tyFlow v2.006 or later
Redshift supports tyFlow ZENITH which allows Redshift to read volumetric data directly without the need for an intermediate VDB export. Redshift automatically exports tyFlow volumes using a default volume shader. This builds a RS Standard Volume material internally and converts grid data based on tyFlow’s Inferno Display operator.
Supported channels:
- Scalar
- density
- fuel
- temperature
- Vector
- color
- velocity
- Derived data channels for fire are sampled from tyFlow based on temperature and baked into the volume:
- scalar: <<tyFlow-fireOpacity>>
- vector: <<tyFlow-fireColor>>

Redshift tyFlow Modifier |
Typically, the automatic volume shader requires adjustment due to scene scale or other volume considerations.
The Redshift tyFlow modifier makes this possible, by adding it to a tyFlow object it allows control over the automatic volume shading by offering the same familiar Standard Volume controls. It lets you tweak most aspects of the volume shader without requiring you to build a material.
For full control over shading, you can assign your own volume material rather than use the automatic volume shader.
