Track
This page documents the Track Field layer in Cinema 4D. It feeds any animation track's values — raw, as speed or as acceleration — into Field lists, linking existing keyframe animation to Field-driven effects.
With this field, any animation track can be used to affect other field values.
An animation track contains parameter values that change over time. These values can be transferred directly or interpreted (value change speed, value change acceleration) to other values (remapping).
Example
In this example, an animated X position regulates both a vertex map and a deformer effect via its speed.
Load the following example and play the animation.
There is exactly 1 animation track in this project, namely the animated X-position value of the cylinder. This animation track controls two things via a Track Field Layer:
-
Point weightings via a Vertex Map tag (Fields tab).
-
Effect of a Bulge object (Fields tab).
The faster the cylinder moves, the greater the weighting or deformer effect.
