Vector To Float

What is it about?

This page documents the Vector To Float node of the classic node materials in Cinema 4D. It derives length, component sums or single components from a vector — the vector counterpart of Color to Float.

Vectors can also be converted to float comma values, for example to ascertain information about the vector’ length.

This Node can, among other things, be used to output the length, component sum or individual components of a vector. The functions reflect to a large part those of the Color to Float Node.
