Protection Tag
This page describes the Protection tag in Cinema 4D. It locks an object's position, scale or rotation — entirely or per axis — and is routinely used to safeguard carefully framed cameras from accidental viewport navigation.
The protection tag is designed to prevent accidental changes to an objects position, scale or rotation. It is often used to lock carefully positioned cameras. This tag is assigned to the given camera (you might want to create a new camera – the settings from the active view will be assumed by this camera).
Furthermore, the Protection tag can be used to only lock or restrict certain PSR settings. For example, an interactive translation along the Y axis only can be defined.
Note also the Constraint tag, which has similar but farther-reaching functionality.
