Basic Noise

What is it about?

This page documents the Basic Noise node of the classic node materials in Cinema 4D. It generates the familiar noise patterns of the Noise shader as grayscales — the all-purpose source for surface variation and bump effects.

In conjunction with the Basic Node, mathematical noise patterns can be created, e.g., that can be used as a relief or simulating a surface roughness.

This Node can be used to create various noise patterns as grayscales that, for example., can be used directly as a relief effect. The available patterns and options are closely related to those of the Noise shader in the standard Material System. If you require additional settings, a separate Noise Node can be used.
