Geometry Neighbor

What is it about?

This page describes the Geometry Neighbor node of the Scene Nodes system in Cinema 4D. It finds the neighboring points, edges and polygons of a component and outputs their indices — the basis for growth, spread and adjacency logic.

This Node helps locate the neighboring points, edges and polygons of a point in the geometry. The indices of the located elements will be output as an array and can, for example, be output using a "Get Elements" Node. A second mode allows to output the polygon indices of polygons that share a given edge.

With "Geometry Neighbor" the automatic selection of points, edges or polygons becomes easier. Only the indices of points have to be specified and the node outputs all neighboring elements. In this example, for example, all polygons lying around the center of a disk are always automatically extruded and rounded with the "Polygon Bevel" Node.
