Strip Whitespace

What is it about?

This page describes the Strip Whitespace node of the Scene Nodes system in Cinema 4D. It removes spaces before, after or inside a string — normalizing text input before comparison or display.

This Node can detect and remove empty spaces in a string. Various options make it possible to remove specific empty spaces before or after the string, as well as empty spaces within the string. The following figure shows an example of this.

The example uses two separate strings, which can be seen in the top line of the image. The first string contains several empty spaces marked by underscores in the right column. The first string ( A BCD ) is passed through the Strip Whitespace Node and the various modes come into play there before the second string EFGH is appended to create the final string.
