Timeline Marker

What is it about?

This page describes Timeline Markers in Cinema 4D. Markers label important frames in the Timeline — cue points, review notes, sync hits — and can carry names, colors and comments, making complex animations easier to navigate and coordinate.

When you click on a marker its properties will be displayed in the Attributes Manager.

General

Markers can also be created manually by Ctrl/Cmd+clicking on the middle third of the Timeline (press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift in the Powerslider). Markers can be deleted by simply dragging them away vertically.

Multiple Markers can be selected by clicking and dragging a selection box around them. Markers can be added or removed from the selection by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl/Cmd (PC) / Ctrl/Cmd (Mac) key.

Double-click on a Marker to rename it.

Markers are visual reference points that can be placed at specific locations in the animation. Keys can also be snapped to markers. Markers can also be hidden in the Layer Manager.

Markers can be exchanged between scenes by merging a scene containing markers with the current scene.
