Shuffle indexes

What is it about?

This page covers the Shuffle Indexes node of the Scene Nodes system in Cinema 4D. It outputs an integer sequence in random order — the tool for random yet complete index lists, e.g. to pick every element exactly once.

This Node can generate a sequence of integers of any length, which is output as an Array. However, the values of this sequence are not output in the correct order, e.g., 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, as in the case of a Range Node, but in a random order, e.g., 3, 1, 5, 4, 0, 2. This allows the Node to be useful, for example, in reading out elements of another Array in random order while ensuring that all numbers between 0 and a given number are used.
