Combine Scene

The Combine Scene tool for Vectorworks, ArchiCAD (from version 18, see ArchiCAD 18 Combine Project) and Allplan makes it possible to connect geometry based on either material or layer names, letting you organize and optimize a Project by reducing the total amount of objects to a minimum.

Use

Scene files can be prepared in the native CAD application by applying identical classes/layers or materials to the objects that you want to join in Cinema 4D. After importing the scene into Cinema 4D you can trigger the plug-in by going to Extensions / Combine Scene.

Settings

By material

Joins geometry to which a common material is applied

By layer

Joins geometry to which a common layer is applied.

Remove inactive objects

Removes objects that have been unchecked in the Object Manager.

Remove duplicate texture and selection tags

This option allows you to remove duplicate Texture and Selection tags that are applied to geometry objects, which improves Viewport redraw speeds in Cinema 4D.

TIP:Due to the removal of duplicate materials with specific material projection settings, the imported scene may look different and adjustments to the material settings may be required after connecting geometry .

Limitations

Merge will not function properly after connecting geometry.
It may take a long time to undo the steps performed by the Combine Scene tool. Please ensure that the scene is saved prior to using the tool.
