Flakes

Flakes can simulate the small metallic particles that are used, for example, in the deeper layers of car laquer. Small circular areas are simulated whose ingle to the surface is varied randomly. In this example, the effect is used to control the Normal directions and is supplemented by additional BSDF layers that simulate the primer and clear coat layers.

This Node is only available when editing a classic Cinema 4D Node Material.

This can be used to generate randomly-placed, colored areas (flakes), whose color values reflect Normal directions within the object axis system. In this way, small particles can be simulated, such as those used in metallic paints.
