Example
In the following scene, the aircraft (rigid bodies) are slowed down to varying degrees by a friction field.
Friction reduces the speed of the particles and can even bring them to a complete standstill - at least if no other forces such as gravity are acting. Otherwise, the objects creep on slowly but steadily.
