Inputs
The node can either query individual values, e.g., when the point positions of a geometry are passed to the Sample Field one after another within a loop to determine the field values for each of these points, or it can directly process an array of corresponding queries. Accordingly, the Array Mode then returns an array of measurement results, which you would have to unpack yourself.
This input can process a list of Field objects. Such a list is provided, for example, directly by a MoGraph Nodes Effector, or you can use this input directly as a user data input for a capsule to add an input element for Field Lists there. You’ll find an example of this on this page.
This should be the object's global matrix, which contains, for example, the local positions used for field evaluation.
In Array Mode, this is the input for an array collection consisting of the three values: position (Vector64), uvw (Vector64), and direction (Vector64).
This is the local position at which the assigned fields are to be evaluated. For example, this could be a point on a geometry.
Use this section to specify the UVW values at the positions where the fields are to be evaluated. If you only want to determine the intensities of fields at point positions, you can ignore this information.
If vectors are also being manipulated by the fields, you can specify the original direction at the local position to be evaluated here for each one. If you are only interested in evaluating field strengths, you can ignore this input.
