Line
This asset capsule offers various options for creating a straight line, which can be divided evenly into any number of sections. You can specify the positions of the start and end points, a starting point and a direction or, for example, one of the standard axis directions and a length to describe this line.
This asset can also be used directly in the Object Manager as a spline and combined there with a Sweep object or a Redshift Object tag, for example.
When working in the Node Editor, the node type can be switched to output either just the Geometry or a complete object ('Op' output), which also includes an editable matrix, for example. To do this, right-click on the node and then select Toggle Node Type in the context menu. It is also possible to use this command again in order to return to the original node type.
You can also find this Line spline directly in the icon group with the basic spline objects for direct access and use in the Object Manager.
The following video shows a possible example of use. There, the two particle groups of a Predator Prey modifier were read out via a Nodes Spline asset and the different positions of these particles were compared with each other. If the fleeing particles are at a certain distance from a hunting particle, a line is created between these positions.
