The settings are very straightforward, as it is only a matter of assigning a new group to particles. As a rule, you use this function below a Condition to be able to control which particles are to be moved to another group.
Here you can assign a Particle Group to which you want to move the particles.
To assign, drag the corresponding Particle Group object from the Object Manager into this field. Alternatively, by clicking on the pipette symbol to the right of the Group field, you can also activate a selection tool that lets you click directly on a Particle Group in the Object Manager to create a link.
If you need a new group, you can simply call it up via Simulate/Groups.
The small triangle to the right of the linking field also gives you access to commands for removing an already created link in the Target Group Field, for displaying the linked Particle Group in the Object Manager and for selecting this Particle Group.
Below you can see another example. A Condition has a low Chance of affecting all particles in the Particle Group that is filled directly by the Emitter. Under the condition, a Switch Group Modifier will move the randomly-selected particles to a new group, where they will be subjected to a Turbulence force and changed in Radius and Alpha value via two Data Mappers.
This button can be used to create a new Particle group that is automatically used as a Target group.
