Time and Location

Sets the date and time to control the position of the following objects when:

• Sun uses the "Time and Location" position mode
• Moon uses the "Time and Location" position mode
• Always controls the position of the Stars and Milky Way

Defines the Time Zone in UTC.

Controls how time is animated between keyframes set on the Time. Take an example keyframed from March 1st at 12pm to March 5th at 12pm. When enabled, the sky animates smoothly between each day, through seconds, minutes, and hours. When disabled, the sky only updates for every new day at 12pm, so the sun, moon, and stars jump to their new position instead of transitioning smoothly. Please note, the sky will always update for each individual keyframe even when Animate Time is disabled.

Disabling Animate Time can be nice when you want to demonstrate the lighting conditions at the same time each day or only update on every keyframe.

In both examples the time is animated starting at 12pm across 5 days. When Animate Time is disabled you see the full day/night cycle across all five days. When disabled, the time only updates each day at the original time (12pm), resulting in a sudden position change of the sun at noon each day.

Sets the latitudinal coordinates for the location of the sky simulation.

Sets the longitudinal coordinates for the location of the sky simulation.

By default the +Z direction is used to define True North for the Time and Location settings but this can be changed by using North Offset. This parameter is useful for adjusting True North for your scene's sky without rotating the actual scene geometry.
