Dash Spline Modifier

Note:There are also Cineversity videos for these special Node capsules, which demonstrate their practical use. Follow this link to the corresponding overview page.

This function traces a given spline with evenly-spaced linear sections whose spacing and length can be selected individually. This results in the typical appearance of a dashed line. If several of these Nodes are combined with different settings for the position and length of these lines, semicolon lines or dot lines can also be implemented.

From version 2025.2, this asset capsule is also available directly as an object via the familiar Deformer menu within the C4D layout, so that it can be used directly in the Object Manager as a child of a spline.

In this example, a Square Star spline was used. The individually adjustable number of dashes and their spacing along the spline allows different types of dash lines to be implemented. Since multiple Nodes can also be applied to the same spline geometry, semicolon lines, as in the right half of the image, are also possible.
