Here you will find various modes for automatically assigning color values to the generated geometry.

Point Color

Various modes are available here for coloring the geometry generated on the point, matrix or particle positions:

  • Gradient: The following color gradient can be used for coloring. The left color value is used where there are short distances to neighboring point positions. Accordingly, the colors on the right are used for the point representations that have large distances to other positions.
  • Point Color: In this mode, a Vertex Color Map can be assigned, which must be present on the geometry used as the point source. The vertex colors of the point geometry are then adopted for the geometry on these elements. Since a vertex color map can also adopt colors from field objects, for example, this mode can also be used with parametric objects or even with particles.
  • Particle Color: This mode is specially designed for using a particle group as a position source. The color property of the particles is read out.

Gradient

The color gradient appears when Point Color Gradient is selected and enables the use of various color tabs, which can be moved as desired and filled with your own color values. The operation corresponds to that of other color gradients, e.g. within the material system. If you would like to read about its functions again here, simply open the following area.


Vertex Color Map

If you are using Point Color Point Color, you can specify the name of a Vertex Color Map that exists at the assigned position source here.

Direction

These modes are available for coloring the connections that are created between the positions:

  • Gradient: The following color gradient can be used for coloring. The left color value is used where short distances to neighboring point positions are connected. Accordingly, the colors on the right are used for the connections that have to bridge large distances.
  • Point Color: In this mode, a Vertex Color Map can be assigned, which must be present on the geometry used as the point source. the vertex colors of the point geometry are then adopted for the connections. Since a vertex color map can also adopt colors from field objects, for example, this mode can also be used with parametric objects or even with particles.
  • Particle Color: This mode is specially designed for using a particle group as a position source. The color property of the particles is read out.
