Safe Frames
Enables/disables the Title Safe (Render Safe, Frame Safe and Action Safe). These safe regions are especially important for renderings that are destined for certain outputs that crop the edges due to various technical reasons.
If this option is enabled, an additional frame will be displayed in the Viewport (only in the Perspective Viewport). The size of this frame is defined using the Size setting. The Aspect Ratio defined in the Render Settings menu is used to calculate the defined size.
Title Safe is a region within which you can "safely" play a film's opening or closing credits - or other information - with little or no distortion.
Defines the size of the Title Safe frame.
If this option is enabled, the Safe Frame will be displayed in the Viewport (Perspective only). The size of the frame is defined using the Size setting. The Aspect Ratio defined in the Render Settings menu is used to calculate the defined size.
Action Safe is a region within which you can be sure that the main action taking place in the scene will be displayed within the respective output medium (monitor, television screen or movie screen).
You've probably noticed in a movie theater how the curtains left and right of the screen are sometimes used to make the screen narrower or wider, depending on the film being shown (and the film's respective format). This can even be observed on television screens when a movie is shown in a different format than the screen itself.
Defines the size of the Action Safe frame.
If enabled, the frames of the defined film format will be displayed in the Viewport (Perspective only). This is the actual rendered region, independent of the size or aspect ratio of the Viewport.
These settings can be used to color the regions outside of the Render Safe region. The Opacity and Color settings are used to define these properties.
